how to add document download link to menu item

Hi,

I am using liferay 6.1. I want to add a document download link ( from documents and media) to menu item.
And i need to map the mapped document permissions to the menu item.
if loggedin user has permissions to the document than menu item should be displayed otherwise it should not be displayed to user.

Can anybody give me some idea to how to achieve it?
