how long would it take for the permissions to go through if we add a user t

I have configured LDAP through control panel and also enabled ldap import on startup. I have a group created in AD and added some users. When will that group import in liferay? Next If its imported, then I add more users to that group. My question is, how long would it take for the permissions to go through in liferay? I know this is simple question. But I'm new to liferay. Thanx in advance.

Import at startup means Liferay will import LDAP users when the container starts up. So to pull in new users, you have to restart your application container.

In most situations, you probably don't want to use the import on start up option. If the option is not selected, Liferay will just import the user when the user logs in for the first time.
