How to Remote Publish CMS Content

Hi All,

I have downloaded liferay 5.1 and also gone through CMS related portlet and able to publish them locally. I want to publish these articles on my production server from staging server. I have gone through wiki/documentation but not getting anything which can guide me publish my articles on production server from staging server. I have below query.

1) Which portlet provides the Remote Publish functionality?
2) What are the best practices to publish any articles like should we use Staging and Production server or we should directly work in production server and publish them?

Please guide me as i am new to liferay,especially great feature of CMS in liferay. Also provide document if someone is having.

Hi Ray,

I have gone through all documentation but i am not getting anything which state that how to do remote publish or schedule publish.I want to know navigation flow from where i can try to open remote publish(i am default user provided by liferay e.g [e-mail] and test as password).

Please advise.

Hi all,
I have same issue. I have local copy for internal use and access that I want to allow to publish content from on a remote public server. I have both up and running, both same version (about to upgrade from 5.1.1 to 5.1.2 to see if that makes a difference).

The UI to do a remote publish seems very straight forward, but I find no mention in documentation about settings that may be required else where (using tunneling for comm? special auth for login?)

Hi all,

I have the same problem too. I want to publish sites, communities, journal contents (all except wiki articles and message boards posts) to an other physical production server.

Can this done by the Remote staging feature and where to find some documentation about it ?!?

Same problem. At first it works on from server a to server b. Then we tried to do the same from server a to c. Nope. The Remote Publish popup stays visible en nothing happends.

We did set the parameters
tunnel.servlet.hosts.allowed=127.0.0.1,SERVER_IP, YOUR_REMOTE_SERVER_IP
tunnel.servlet.https.required=false

At the moment I switch back from dutch to default language English it works back again.

Hi All,

Right now i am facing the problem like "You have not required permission" when i am publishing any page by Remote Publishing.

I have put configuration parameter on portal-ext.properties also but when i am publish that time in UI side its just showing me error and in tomcat console there is no error.

Anybody know what will be the missing here for configuration.

Can you please tell me if anyone know.

I did finally get it working. I had to hard code the IP address into my remote configuration because I couldn't find anywhere in the Management UI's to put it.

But one of the things I was getting wrong was to put the right group id into the publishing UI. I think I used the local guest id, and when I finally put the right id in, everything published.

hi there

i am stuck at remote publishing,i am doing following steps.
1) adding local machine ip 127.0.0.1 and port 8080 and other community group id in remote options.
2)when i publish in liferay console it is showing me it is done successfully but i cant see the page in another community on local LS.
3) I tried with port 443 it is giving me error- check local address and port i did configuration in portal-ext .properties

tunnel.servlet.hosts.allowed=127.0.0.1,SERVER_IP,127.0.0.1

tunnel.servlet.https.required=true


Please advise urgently as stuck in this issue from last 1 week
