Adding new web apps to a liferay bundled installation in tomcat

Good day everyone.
This is my first post on the forum. Sorry if this is too basic.
I downloaded the liferay 6.0 CE bundled with tomcat and it works great. However, I would like to install other webapps (not portlets) on the same tomcat in order to keep using the same tomcat installation.
However, when I deploy a new application on the webapps folder within the liferay's tomcat folder, I just cannot access them. For instance, i'm trying to install the jasper server and I set it to install under the liferay's tomcat folder, but I just can't access it through localhost:8080/jasperserver/html which is possible if I install jasper on its own tomcat. This has happened to me with other webapps. Is there somethig i'm missing in here??
Thanks a lot in advance
