Liferay on IBM mainframe (Z-Series), zLinux

We are looking at using Liferay but will need it to work on our IBM mainframe installation running zLinux with either WS App Server or jBoss AS. In the past we've picked up lots of hassles with the IBM vs Sun JDK. Can Liferay run on this platform? Any experiences out thre?

I have successfully migrated our Liferay Portal 6.0.6 running on IBM WASCE 2.1.1.5 with Oracle back-end DB on Solaris to zLinux platform. Previously in Solaris, I have issues on the performance of our portal using Sun JDK 1.6 Update 27 which I keep on adjusting JVM heap size. Currently on zLinux, I used IBM specific JDK 1.7 Update 02 s390x with no issues so far. Cross fingers.. I am still in UAT and I hope everything is fine when in PROD
