Hello everyone,

I can't visualize the generated sitemap.xml in the control panel. Whenever I click the preview link (http://www.mydomainname.com/sitemap.xml?groupId=xxxxx&privateLayout=false), I get a 404 error.
On my local development environment, I can see it (e.g. http://localhost:8080/sitemap.xml?groupId=xxxxx&privateLayout=false), but can't find the XML file on my computer, I guess the file is not written on the hard drive, so it should not be a write permission problem on the production environment.
I've tried different groupIds, adding "/web/guest" to the URL, but it failed everytime. I'm surprised noone had the same problem on this forum emoticon

Another problem, by default hidden pages aren't added to sitemap.xml, but we want them to be added. I've seen some "sitemapable" keys in the portal.properties file, but none corresponding to hidden pages. Does anybody know how to add hidden pages to sitemap ?

Regards
Shagul Khajamohideen

Which version of Liferay are you running? I can't seem to reproduce this issue with virtual host enabled in Liferay 6.0 EE.

Hello Shagul and thanks for your interest emoticon
We're running Liferay 6.0.5 CE on Tomcat 6.0.26 with JDK 1.6.0.22

Hi Pablo,

Is it possible for you to try assigning the Virtual host to the "Private Virtual Host" and leave the public virtual host empty? Try accessing sitemap url after that. I think this could be a bug.

We're not using Virtual Hosts, maybe that's the problem ?
In that case, why is http://www.mydomainname.com/web/guest/sitemap.xml?groupId=xxxxx&privateLayout=false not working ?

In portal/portal-web/docroot/html/portlet/communities/edit_pages_settings.jsp I have found this code :
1
2if (!host.equals(virtualHost))
3{
4    sitemapUrl += "?groupId=" + groupId + "&privateLayout=" + privateLayout;
5}

Does this mean if I don't set the virtual host, I can't get a sitemap URL ?

OK, I've tried setting the virtual host, the sitemap.xml URL is now set to http://www.mydomainname.com/sitemap.xml (without the groupId parameter), but I still get a 404 error emoticon

With trunk version 6.1.x, use parameters
http://www.tokenizer.ca/sitemap.xml?groupId=10136&privateLayout=false
