Hi community

I'm the CIO of an leading international company and currently I'm investigating if LifeRay could be our platform.

We want to use LifeRay to re-develop and maintain our public web sites.

International company in this sense is equal to an extensive usage of LifeRay (if we can decide for it).

The toolbox itself is promising and a prototype we've developed based on LifeRay is convincing. The only critical issue remaining is the speed / system performance.

I'm looking for some experience from you concerning the LifeRay system speed & performance. The question is not really linked to hardware - if we need a powerful hardware we are going to invest in it.

The question focus on the LifeRay system performance and the tools used by LifeRay.

To give you a brief overview about our complexity.

We have 4 brands (each brand in published in 12 languages), and this are the average access per day:

1: 580 visitors per day, 5,7 pages visited per visitor ( = 3.306 pages viewed per day)
2: 360 visitors per day, 5,6 pages visited per visitor ( = 2.016 pages viewed per day)
3: 273 visitors per day, 5,0 pages visited per visitor ( = 1.065 pages viewed per day)
4: 370 visitors per day, 3,5 pages visited per visitor ( = 1.295 pages viewed per day)

In total we have about 1.500 visitors per day, which opens in total 7.680 pages per day.

The average time to display a site (with the system we use currently) is less than 2,5 seconds. Access which would take longer than this 2,5 seconds benchmark will be not accepted by the business and is definitely a show stopper. High performance is very critical for us.

Is LifeRay the right platform for this?

Looking forward hearing from you soon.

great info, this is the answer I was looking for.

For what ever reason there are a number of voices on the market saying LifeRay itself is not capable to support high speed applicatens & sites.

Thanks a lot

I need some help integrating liferay with Akamai and was wondering if there is a document or something or a best practice for doing so. Specifically, I want to be able to upload video resources to liferay, deliver them to akamai and have them sourced in production from the akamai content delivery network. I know this thread is a bit old, but I'd love to get some community help on this.
