Hi all,

I want to access web services in Liferay via REST. I am aware of accessing web services via SOAP in liferay, but now I want to do it with REST, how can I go about it?

Thanks
Ayaz

As I'm not aware that LR has restful services, you'd probably have to go about building an adapter to convert incoming REST to a compatible LR SOAP calls.

Don't bother. That post is for creating rest services in Spring and consuming them with Spring. I think your original question was whether you can access the Liferay services using REST, which you cannot.

You are right David i was wishing to access the Liferay services using REST. Is Liferay is planning to introduce this in their next version 6.2 ? Also, i think currently this is possible through soap.

There is a limited set of true REST interfaces (see this wiki page). They are implemented using Apache Abdera. For example, to access blogs via REST.

See Igor's comments on the obsolescence of tunnel-web in 6.1 also (the above wiki pages reference tunnel-web which is gone).
