Hello,

Step 10b of http://content.liferay.com/4.0.0/docs/install/ch01s05.html (I came here from http://www.liferay.com/web/guest/devzone/documentation Updated Installation Guide View Online)

gives me

mysql -u root -p < create-mysql.sql
Enter password: *****
ERROR 1406 (22001) at line 1552: Data too long for column 'content' at row 1

Database and 80+ tables got created. There must be error in script http://downloads.sourceforge.net/lportal/liferay-portal-sql-4.2.0.zip?download

MySQL client doesn't know how to handle long SQLs when done that way. I think it actually aborts running the SQL when it encounters an error. You can run that sql script by login into your database with the client and then use
1\. create-mysql.sql

It'll still ommit the too long data but atleast all the tables will get created.
