I have a custom rotating banner that I created using jQuery. I was just wonder what the best location was to locate the js files. I know you can put them just about any where, but didn't know if there were some recommendations.

You'll deploy the JS with the portlet war, and reference the JS in the portlet xml deployment descriptors.

This is already a production installation so redeploying the war file isn't an option emoticon

If you plan to use Jquery in more than one portlet/plugin, you should probably customize your theme so the libraries are globally available.
