Hi.
I am using Liferay 5.2.3 with tomcat 6 bundle.
I am familiar with the Liferay portal.I have created a web application based on struts and spring.
I wanted to know can i integrate the web application into the Liferay bundle/portal??

I know we can create a portlet ie simple jsp and struts portlet, dynamic as well as database portlet using ext and plug in sdk,but can i import the web application into the portlet??
Since as far as i now i have to embed the application into the portlet only, since Liferay portal consists of portlets.

so please let me know is there any way i can integrate any web appliation into Liferay.

Any idea or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Manish
Thanks for the quick reply.
I read the pdf which you had sent and also implemented it ie I deplyed the spring application in the liferay bundle and configured the iframe portlet to show the web application.

I am able to view the application under IFrame.
I wanted to know does it means that i have integrated an external web application in liferay?? Can i integrate any other application with liferay???

Thanks in advance..
Any idea or suggestions are welcome..

Hi Manish,

We are trying to develop a Portal, but we have to use the existing Spring3.0 MVC web application in that.

Please help me how to integrate it with Liferay 6.1.

Thanks & Regards

Tong123123, you must realize that you're looking at a fringe use case here. It's not that no one wants to help you, I think you're just going into an area which most people on the forum have not tread.

I'm using Vaadin, which is based on the GWT, and haven't had any problems there, but I'm also not doing vanilla GWT. Based on the Wiki pages you already referenced, GWT portlets are possible.

Even though they're possible, that doesn't mean a lot of folks have jumped on the band wagon.

I'm afraid it's going to boil down to solving your issues on your own.

It's not a nice thing to say, and I certainly don't want to see you turn away from the Liferay platform as a result. I, for one, will certainly help where I can, as I'm sure others will also.

Yes, please. Let me send an email to an unknown recipient so my email address can be added to someone's mailing list. I hope I end up getting spam, and am a good target for phishing attacks, and I also hand over my credit card and banking information to anyone that asks for it.
