I have installed Liferay Portal version 5.2.2 bundled with Tomcat 5.5.

I changed the HTTP listening port of Tomcat/Liferay to 9090 because I have Sun's GlassFish server running on the same machine and it listens on port 8080. When I execute the startup.sh script the server starts listening on 9090, but as part of the startup Firefox opens to http://localhost:8080. What do I need to do to change the startup of Liferay so that it will open the browser to http://localhost:9090, instead of http://localhost:8080?

Thank you,
Barbar

Hi Barbara,

Change this property:

#
# Enter a URL to automatically launch a browser to that URL when the portal
# has fully initialized. Enter a blank URL to disable this feature.
#
browser.launcher.url=http://localhost:8080

hi Barbara:

The only thing you have to do is to change tomcats port. This is set in the server.xml file. This file is in tomcat/conf/server.xml.

Edit this file and finde something like "<!-- Define a non-SSL HTTP/1.1 Connector on port 8080 -->"
Behind this line is defined, among other thing where will listen the tomcat server. Here is where you have to cange the port number.

Hope this helps!!!!
