Hey,

I am going nuts...
Is there any way to hide the "private page" of a community / site?

I tried to play arround with sitetemplates...
Then I created one and went to site administration and chose the template for the "private page".

But now I dont want it anymore.
Deleted the website template, then wanted to delete the site-template, but that does not work (as long it is used )´...
And in my site configuration I cant delete the "private page".

In my dockbar I do have the public page and the private page of the site (i am not talking about the privat/public page of a user-..)

Can PLEASE someone help me, to turn this off?

THX a lot

Hi
Try following properties and similar properties in portal.propertis file
https://github.com/liferay/liferay-portal/blob/6.1.x/portal-impl/src/portal.properties

#
# Set whether or not private layouts are enabled. Set whether or not private
# layouts should be auto created if a user has no private layouts. If
# private layouts are not enabled, then the property
# "layout.user.private.layouts.auto.create" is assumed to be false.
#
layout.user.private.layouts.enabled=true
layout.user.private.layouts.auto.create=true

#
# Set this to true if users must have the Power User role to have private
# pages.
#
layout.user.private.layouts.power.user.required=false

#
# Set whether or not public layouts are enabled. Set whether or not public
# layouts should be auto created if a user has no public layouts. If public
# layouts are not enabled, then the property
# "layout.user.public.layouts.auto.create" is assumed to be false.
#
layout.user.public.layouts.enabled=true
layout.user.public.layouts.auto.create=true

#
# Set this to true if users must have the Power User role to have public
# pages.
#
layout.user.public.layouts.power.user.required=false

Hello Mason,
If you delete all pages from Private/Public sites, it will not be displayed in "My Sites" menu. You don't have to configure anything else.

On the attached screen there is an opposite situation to this you want to achieve, I removed all Public pages and only single link to Private Pages is displayed.

KG

First of all you cannot remove/turn off private/public pages functionality - it is simply not possible emoticon You can remove one or both of them from dockbar as I wrote in my previous post but you cannot remove it from Control Panel/Site Settings and so on. That is just how it works.

In you case, as far as I understand, there is some issue with site templates which prevents you from removing private pages from dockbar. Unfortunately I didn't have this problem ever so I cannot help you. You can try to create a new site and check how it works without site templates, then go back to your site and try to fix it using templates.

P.S. I was travelling through Germany for over a dozen hours last weekend so I am used to German captions. Anyway, you can change language to english instantly and temporarily by putting /en/ just after your hostname and before the rest of URL.

Hey,

I know... I did not want to turn off the fuctionality in general!

I was just wondering, why I cant get rid of the private page in the dockbar, because before it was not there...

Hm, ok, I will check again, maybe I find a workaround.

THX for your help!!!
