Hello Liferay Community,

I've run into some issues running Liferay on a dev server, here's the specs:

-Liferay 6.2
-Oracle WebLogic Server 12c
-All running on a development server in production mode

Here are some problems I am faced with:

*Note these problems do not occur on my local machine, only on the dev server

-Cannot add/populate web content

-cannot add pages via control panel
*adding pages works on homepage however

-importing LARs returns an error

-cannot change theme/color schema

It seems that adding Liferay's out-of-the-box portlets, as well as our own customized portlets to the application works with no problem.

Has anyone else been faced with these issues?

We had (and currently have) similar problems (both CE and EE) that were caused by the mismatch of Virtual Host defined in Control Panel > Portal Settings and hostname defined in browser URL, combined with some other web server hostname-related settings.

Put you browser into tracing mode, and see which URL calls are not coming back.

In our case, Liferay called made some URL calls by Virtual Host, and not via original URL the browser was coming to the site.

The problem with Liferay that it makes URLs inconsistently, i.e. for some calls it does not insert hostname, and does for some. This is especially evident when logged in as Portal Administrator and doing Control Panel - related activities. Could be a nightmare in some configurations.

Thanks for replying Victor,

We changed the virtual host in LR's control panel to match our domain name, but still can't seem to get the aforementioned issues resolved (changing theme/color scheme, etc.)

The logs aren't mentioning anything about it either, so it's becoming a very difficult issue to resolve.
