Hello,

I have created another site name "site" based on some public/private site templates and I want to use that one for the future. I also want to disable/delete the default site Liferay.com but I am unable to do that because "The site cannot be deleted or deactivated because it is a required system site.". Where do I have to go and check the references. The install is clean and I am using Liferay 6.1.2 GA3

I believe that it is impossible to remove that site but I just don't want to be accessible for the users. It has a welcome page and I can see that as a vulnerability to my web application

Hi Cristian,

I think the easiest way is to start a new installation but set the following variables in your portal-ext.properties before the first startup:

 1##
 2## Company
 3##
 4
 5    company.default.name=Liferay
 6
 7    #
8    # This sets the default web id. Omniadmin users must belong to the company
9    # with this web id.
10    #
11    company.default.web.id=liferay.com
12
13    #
14    # This sets the default home URL of the portal.
15    #
16    company.default.home.url=/web/guest
17
18    #
19    # This sets the default locale of the portal, overriding the properties
20    # "user.language" and "user.country" specified in system.properties.
21    #
22    #company.default.locale=en_US
23
24    #
25    # This sets the default time zone of the portal.
26    #
27    company.default.time.zone=UTC

I haven't tried, but I have the feeling that if you set these, your default instance will be that one you set and no liferay.com will be there in your DB at all.

Hope it helps.
