Hi all,

I try to add a Drop-Down List to change the portal language in my own portlet.

At first I tried the simple tag offered by Liferay, like this:

<%@ taglib uri="http://liferay.com/tld/ui" prefix="liferay-ui" %>

<liferay-ui:language displayStyle="3" />

Here displayStyle="3" means a Drop-Down list for the available languages. but it failed to change the portal language when I change the selection in the list. I also tried with the other values(0, 1 , 2) of dsiplayStyle, they can all work. Is it a Strange result?

So maybe can I realize the function in a backing bean? Is there some useful classes delivered by Liferay that i can use? or any suggestion? thanks in advance!

default installation has the language selection (with flags) that works. You can see what is done there.

Hi Leon,

Now I am using Liferay 6 where I added the language option in the dockbar.

Did you get the solution for the problem you mentioned ?

Even I am getting the same kind of thing. When I give the display style as 3, the drop down is not calling the languages but its working fine for the dispalystyle 2 and 3.

Thanks in Adavnce,
