Hi all,

since a week now, I'm trying to play with kaleo's workflows but through Liferay Developer Studio.
Instead of using the Kaleo designer portlet which seems to be a little limited (no tasks timers, pbs with mail notifications), I want to use Liferay Developer Studio connected to a remote tomcat server (which is a distance one, not a local one).
But, my problem is, as I successed to connect to my remote server (I can see the logs in LDS), the workflows aren't loaded in.

Any idea why ? Maybe I need to configure my remote server for that ?

Thanks

Hello Bebaq,

In order to open (and edit) Kaleo workflows through Liferay Developer Studio you have to have the following 3 plugins (specific versions required) installed into the remote Liferay Portal instance.

- kaleo-designer-portlet (6.1.10.3 or greater)
- kaleo-forms-portlet (6.1.10.1 or greater)
- kaleo-web (6.1.10.3 or greater)

Once these plugins are deployed to the portal, then Liferay Developer Studio will be able to display the workflows in the Servers view inside of Liferay Developer Studio.

Hope this helps!

Hello Gregory,

thanks for your answer !

The remote liferay instance has already those 3 plugins deployed.
I've switch to Liferay Developer Studio to avoid the Kaleo designer portlet limits (no task timers, pbs with mail notifications). So before I switched to LDS I tried via Kaleo portlets (web, forms and designer). So that they are still deployed on the remote portal.

Hello,

good news, I successed to connect and grab the workflows from remote ! emoticon

I have deployed the server-manager-web plugin on the remote server, and put the following lines in the portal-ext.properties :

json.service.auth.token.enabled=false
jsonws.web.service.public.methods=*

Hi Bebaq,

Good to hear that. Those two properties are required to allow remote workflow fetching/updating, anyway make sure to not apply that properties to publicly available servers since are "disabling" the json ws security.

You may want to consider to tune th following property as well:
#
# Input a list of comma delimited IPs that can access the JSON service
# without specifying an authenticaton token. Input a blank list to allow
# any IP to access the JSON service. SERVER_IP will be replaced with the IP
# of the host server.
#
# The default value of 255.255.255.255 means that no one can access the JSON
# service without an authentication token since 255.255.255.255 is an
# invalid IP.
#
json.service.auth.token.hosts.allowed=255.255.255.255

Best,
Riccardo
