Hi there!

I'm facing a little challenge. We (staff of 7 persons) want to use the calendar for private and public entries. Is there a way to:

1. using a shared calendar for private and public entries? Private ones should only be seen by the person who made them.

or

2. easy export (like a send-to-button or make-public-button) some entries from your own calendar on the private page to the shared calendar?

Otherwise everybody would have to do public entries two times (on his private calendar and on the shared one).

Any hints or links to a nice tutorial would be nice - thanks a lot!

Hi Andy.

Check out Permissions part of calendar entry form. You can set who can view the entry(owner only, site members, anyone), and set additional permissions to other users.

Hi Pavel and thanks

But if I get this right, you have to be the owner/administrator to be able to change these permissions. But the owner/administrator automatically sees all entries in the calendar. So this means, only one should have this right and would have to do the settings for every entry, which is not practical. Or am I missing something?

Nop, owner means creator of entry.
For example, user1 creating an entry viewable only by owner, user2 will not see it.
But yes, every time it will be necessary to specify permissions.

Uh... I guess, I'm a hard case emoticon

It seems, I can't give the permission to set the visibility of an entry to an user besides making the user to a site-administrator (which would mean, he sees any entry anyway).

By default the user can just set this permission to guests:

And I tried to give the "owner" and a certain role, I added for testing, all the rights possible in these two functions:

without success...

What did I miss? Am I a total failure? emoticon

No wait - I just got it! There is a little tiny button, ONLY when you do a new entry, right below the "entry type"-button, that says:

permission = Members, Owner, Guests

That's what I wanted and what Pavel said, but I didn't see it for the old entries (only visible for new entries) and then I expected it to be elsewhere in these other options.

Thanks a lot anyway Pavel!

in version 2.0.6 of the portlet (in Liferay 6.2 ga4) it is not available all permissions (see attachment).
And still is not available permission when editing
