Hi,
Is there any tools available for LF 6.1 CE for moving (migrate? export? import?) multiple Organisations (all in one instance at the moment) to new instances so that every existing Organisation gets it's own instance and also its own set of tables in the database.

Thank you.

I haven't heard of any tool that'll do what you've asked. You'll have to manually setup database sharding for each instance.

What you are saying is that every time new instance needs to be set up, someone has to go to db and config files and start messing around there to make it work? Thank you, but no thanks. emoticon

If there is no tool to migrate organisation from one instance to another, can someone give us some useful and detailed directions/instructions how to resolve this problem.
We will be happy to release the code to the public domain.
Thank you.

Wiki page on database sharding:

Below is a thread on setting up portal-ext.properties per instance.

There's some information in the portal.properties file too.

I did read those (btw, some of those links are for obsolete pages) but there is nothing about converting a existing site, with multiple organisations (over 200), to use database sharding.
We have a existing set up, that was built by someone else (now gone).
It's a huge mess emoticon
Our initial plan is:
1) upgrade LF to 6.1,
2) move every Organistaion to separate instance
3) use db sharding for every instance.

#1 - test show that 1 can be done
#2 - So far I haven't found anyone who has actually attempted this in real life and wants to share his knowledge
#3 - If we can not do #2, #3 is out too emoticon
