OK, this is what i'm experiencing right now... everything was ok and I dont know why and how something is explode with the portlet option buttons. In the green image is the portal working ok... and the red image is what I see now.

I have tryed with upload an old theme, restart the server, restart the MySql ... quit some hooks... but no luck... :S.

If anyone have some idea about this issue or something like this I'll be really greatfull.

Thanks in advance!

Which browser and which version of Liferay are you using on which OS?

I'm not too sure if your is the same, but I've sometimes found problem running liferay 6.1 on ubuntu and when using Firefox. Some others seems to having a similar problem too.

Hello Lionel ,
you can try these steps:
Delete work/* and temp/* folder once restart server and clear VM cache from control panel.

If still problem is there, then please check while underplaying hooks or theme, may be some changes has be deployed there.

From image also one thing seems green image is in English while red is showing in other language,
Is there change in localization.
Btw, Can you check with change in new deployment.
if using any version controlling for code, then may be you can check the difference there.
If any change made defaults in css or structure.

Agree, it looks like css kicks-in and behaves differently based on green and orange theme.
Try to use 'inspect element' and see where css definitions come for each of the good and bad elements.

Also what is this 'Add' New' control and why it does not have localization?

Check what are css classes for your sign-in and 'add-new', it looks like that they are 'attacked' in orange theme.
Modify one of the classes, see if it has any effect on element's appearance.

If it's happening on all browsers, css problem is the highest possibility.

Have you made any changes to the css? If you have a custom theme, try undeploying that. If you've entered any css on a page or on a portlet, try deleting that.
Also, is there's a reverse proxy or an apache httpd server that may be caching css files?

Hi, thanks to all for response!

Nikhil, the language difference is only a detail between my local enviroment and the server.

Victor, I've tryed with the solution you say... but really I have no idea about what can be the problem... in my local enviroment the theme works fine... but in the server it is doing that strange thing. The only difference between the two themes are in the css... but I dont understand why it works for my local and not for the server.

Hitoshi, with undeployng you mean delete the theme in the server and upload again right?... or you mean some thing else when you say "undeployng"?

PD: Sorry if my questions are obvious, is my first project with Liferay :S

Hi everyone,

Well, I could finally solve my problem... it was on the css ( I know, I know... all of you said me that ). But the strange thing was made by a code format made by Eclipse... the format cut and jump some lines in wrong places... I had to made a full revision off all the style sheet to find the issue ( a funny work.... emoticon ).

Thanks to everybody for help!!!

Thanks, Thanks and more Thanks!!!

Hi Lionel,
What exactly did you have to do to resolve this? I've got the exact same problem with one of my themes..

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt, sorry for the delay!

Well, like I said in my last message... when I format the CSS code in Eclipse the software made a lot of wrong things... jump lines in a bad way... etc... so, you have to check your stylesheet... I'll give you an example:

This is Ok:
.example_class { height:100px; width:30px; padding:20px 30px 10px 10px;}

After the Eclipse format code process... you can get something like this:
.example_class {
height:100px;
width:30px;
padding:20px
30px
10px
10px;
}

it will not happen with the padding actually... but if you have some filter for Internet Explorer like alpha opacity or gradient background yes.

Another possibility is a mistake in some part of the CSS (without the Eclipse format)... so, check the CSS you write and I think there is your problem emoticon (that was my case)

I hope it help!,
Lionel
