I am running Websphere Application Server 7.0 under AIX and Liferay 6.1.20GA2EE. I am trying to install a Liferay plugin and am having issues. The instructions mention going to the control panel->plugin installer->Install more portlets button. I do not have such a button in my Liferay plugin installer. All I have in the plugin installer section is the 3 tabs: Portlet Plugins, Theme Plugins, and layout template plugins. When you click on the tabs it shows the installed plugins but I do not see any button or section to install new plugins. I do not know how to install the plugins since I can't find this. I tried to drop the plugin .war file in the hot deploy folder but I got errors and the plugin did not install.

If you got errors during the hot deploy, then I'm betting even if you did have the button the portlet would fail.

For the button, there is another plugin that you need to install to add that functionality back in, but I don't remember which one it is in the marketplace. A google search of the liferay forum will probably get you the one you need.

During hot deploy Liferay was trying to deploy the plugin in the wrong location. In this case it was the top level of the WAS profile dir, instead of the installedApps/xxx.ear/xxx.war dir. When the hot deploy failed the WAS logs recorded that the .war was corrupt, which it is not.

Thanks Juan,
I found the Private Plugin Installer but it says it is for Liferay Portal CE. I am running Liferay Portal EE. Can I still use this or is will it be incompatible and cause problems?

Thanks. I found the page and downloaded the plugin. The file name is 15473837_15473838_15473858.lpkg. There was no instructions on how to install it.
