When I start a new fresh liferay tomcat for liferay 6.1
there is an exception as below

Database does not support case sensitive queries
why is it so ?

Is it an error or an info? The info message is normal and it just means your database isn't case sensitive (e.g. MySQL). There's nothing wrong.

Previously I did not see this type of exception in my server console
but why this type of exception occurs, I want to resolve this ..

Is any one help me to shut out this problem ?

Never seen this exception before. Can you post the stack trace.

If you're seeing the INFO log message, you can adjust the log levels to hide the message.

Just Drop the Schema and change the schema from portlet-setup-wizard.properties file... change "setup.wizard.enabled=true" ...
restart the server..!!

What Samuel explained is correct. If you want to check again, just drop the Schema and change the schema name in /developerstudio/Liferay Developer Studio/liferay-portal-6.1.20-ee-ga2 /portal-ext.properties and then restart the server..!! (It just means your database isn't case sensitive (e.g. MySQL))
