I just created a new developement portal. Called 'themebuilder.com'. So when I login go to control panel and 'sites'. But I don't see how to apply a site template to existing default site themebuilder. I can create a new site and apply a site template but have not found a way to do the default site.

Anyone know how to do that?

thanks

Well, I did not find the answer on the wiki or any searches. I went to control panel --> site pages. Then I deleted "Welcome" page. That was the only page. Then I clicked on the name of the default site 'themebuilder.com'. Scrolled down to the bottom where it says Public Page and clicked on tick. Then I selected template and applied it. It worked.

Hope this helps someone else who decides they want to use a template on an existing default site.

Well, this is quite interesting. The above comments from me about how to solve it are now not working. Go figure. Anyway, if anyone knows how to apply a site template to a fresh install of portal, I would be very grateful.

The fresh install has one default page 'Welcome' and now it will not let delete it. So, how does one apply the site template to the default site?

Documentation does not mention how to do this.

thanks

jaid: thanks for the reply. The method of deleting Welcome page and then applying site template worked once for me. Now when I try it on fresh install it says I cannot delete the page. Don't know what is different.

thanks for the reply

Bump: Surely, somone knows the answer to this issue. How can I apply a site template to a new install. Just one page exists, the 'stupid' Welcome page. I try to delete it but it says I have to have one page.

I was successful in applying a site template to default site. This is probably not the way to do it, so beware! I exported the site template as .lar file. The I imported the file under Manage page --> Public pages. I selected the import and applied it. Now site template is applied to default site.

If there is a better way, I have yet to discover it.
