Hello
I would like to extend a standard portlet email, exactly send e-mail view (add a new field to the form), which is located under the link "compose email".
Unfortunately, when I create ext portlet and defines the struts-config-ext.xml action "compose / mail" did not see any results.
It is possible to define Ajax action in the struts-config-ext.xml.
Or what would be the best way to expand mail portlet.
I'll be grateful for any help.

The mail portlet is a plugin so you need to do your modifications to that plugin and not the Liferay core.

Ok thank you very much for your quick response.

One more question. How can I safely import mail-portlet plugin to Eclipse to be able to modify it. I use Eclipse Juno for Liferay, Liferay version of the mail-portlet-6.1.0.1-ce-GA1.

You can simply use that plugin as a java project and can change and deploy the code.

Hi,
AFAIK, If you have for example mail portlet installed from Plugin Installations, then there wont be any build.xml, So copy build.xml of other portlet you have and change project-name attribute.
And you have to create new docroot folder and copy WEB-INF, META-INF, jsps etc all under it.
Now make your changes in code.
Then you would be able to deploy .

HTH,
Thanks,
Pankaj

This sounds that we would need hooks for plugins emoticon
