Hi folks,

We're currently demoing and trying to connect these two products.

I've tried following Alexander's tutorial here:

http://www.liferay.com/web/alexander.chow/blog/-/blogs/7670631

However, all I get are errors when saving the settings:

'Your request failed to complete.' and 'Please verify your repository configuration parameters.'

There are no error messages in the logs for Liferay.

I changed my screenname and password for Liferay to match those I have in Alfresco but I just get the same error?

Any ideas or how to improve the error messages would be great emoticon

Thanks,
Paul.

I presume you have the two properties set in portal-ext.properties:

1session.store.password=true
2company.security.auth.type=screenName

Hi Alexander,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, they're both set in portal-setup-wizard.properties as this is the trial download I have.

I've looked in the Tomcat logs for both Alfresco and Liferay and nothing is being reported on either side.

It'd be nice to get more detail of the error but I'm not sure how to do that.

Cheers,
Paul.

Not sure if setting those parameters in setup wizard properties should work. Did you try in portal-ext.properties instead?

I don't have that file anywhere? I thought I read somewhere that setting properties in that file or portal-ext.properties would do the overriding.

To be honest, as I say, if I could see the actual error message somewhere I could probably figure it out myself, but it' doesn't provide any information.

I guess a further question would be what logging should I increase to see any errors?

I tried setting com.liferay.portal.repository.cmis to ALL to no avail. It had also set it back to WARN after a restart?

First of all, set those properties in portal-ext.properties. If file doesn't exist, create it.

If you have any doubt about this, please read the user guide about setting properties in Liferay.

After that post here how it was.

Done and no difference as I expected:

http://www.liferay.com/documentation/liferay-portal/6.1/user-guide/-/ai/properties-override

It will look in the portal-setup-wizard.properties file anyways.

If someone can tell me how to get more logging/information that would be great. Also as I said previously, restarting Liferay keeps resetting the logging settings back to defaults.

Hi Paul,

Yes, you are correct that anything in the portal-setup-wizard.properties file will be read. You can double check what is set in the same control panel that you use to set your logging levels.

When you make changes to logging on a live Liferay portal, it only keeps it as long as the server is up and resets it on restart. If you want logs to be permanent, you need to create a portal-log4j-ext.xml file. See the wiki for details on that.

Have you tried connecting to your Alfresco repository via CMIS Workbench? If it doesn't work there, it won't work on Liferay. It does seem, however, like you are using an unreleased version of Alfresco (the latest release is 4.0.d, not 4.1).

BTW, what version of Liferay are you running? You say you are running 6.1E (which is not a version of Liferay). Is it 6.1 CE GA1/GA2 or 6.1EE GA1/GA2?

Hi Alexander,

Thanks for the reply. Sorry about the version numbers, we are running Alfresco 4.0.1 and it's Liferay 6.1.10EE GA1 that I'm running.

I've just checked the properties after startup and they're not set . The properties files are in D:\liferay-portal-6.1.10-ee-ga1 which I'm assuming is the correct place? I guess this would explain why it's not working.

Cheers,
Paul.

Sorry, ignore that they are being set.

Do you know where I can turn some debugging on? Surely there must be more useful error messages being displayed somewhere?

Thanks again,
Paul.

Mm guess that's why the problem is happening.

wizard properties is created in your user's directory.

portal-ext.properties should be in tomcat/ROOT/WEB-INF/classes

I just used the CMIS Workbench and it connects fine so I guess it's something I'm missing in Liferay.

Is there no way I can see what error messages the code is returning?

Thanks again,
Paul.

I've been trying to do the same as the topic starter and I came to the same result. I can connect to http://localhost:8080/alfresco/cmisatom, but Liferay returns a failure.

I added the two lines (see below) to portal-ext.properties (created the file) under the ROOT/WEB-INF/classes folder.
session.store.password=true
company.security.auth.type=screenName

I followed the following blog post for this:
Integrating Alfresco with Liferay 6.1

edit: It was a simple mistake, I had a typo in the username so they didn't match in Alfresco and Liferay. Now it's working!

Hi

I work with Paul and we've made a little progress. By setting the "Portal Settings" > "Authentication" and the option "how do users authenticate" to screen name it now lets me add the alfresco store. I now see a drive in documents and media. However it shows "an unexpected error occured". See attached

I've set the logging levels and tried added a folder "test" and get this.

14:33:24,294 DEBUG [http-bio-8080-exec-5][CMISRepository:2003] Calling query SELECT cmis:objectId FROM cmis:document WHERE cmis:name = 'test' AND IN_FOLDER('workspace://SpacesStore/da52d903-2389-41d1-9a61-7ae2edd575f5')
14:33:24,360 ERROR [http-bio-8080-exec-5][render_portlet_jsp:154] com.liferay.portal.kernel.repository.RepositoryException: org.apache.chemistry.opencmis.commons.exceptions.CmisRuntimeException: 090914877
at com.liferay.portal.repository.cmis.CMISRepository.addFolder(CMISRepository.java:206)

Any help much appreciated.

Robert

It appears after adding a document in alfresco, refreshing the documents and media page in liferay the error goes away and I can now browse the docs in alfresco.
