I am looking for a way to :
have a portal that is accessible from the internet and my LAN (hosted on a machine on site, firewalled appropriately)
have local users authenticate with their domain name / password (the web server cannot be part of the domain)
have external users authenticate with an email address / password.

Is it possible to do that?

Thanks
Jan Gregor

Hi John,

You can restrict access to your web sites inside portal in different ways and also by firewall (external). You can also connect your portal instance to your company LDAP, so users can use their credentials to login to portal. Additionaly to that you can use external credentials, or login external users.

Jan.

Hi John,

I think you must use LDAP for it. But Authentication don't bind strictly to LDAP(required field false during configuration with LDAP), So that the External users can also login within your system. And Your domain users also login directly with LDAP Credentials.

Hope it helps.
