Hello, i have installed the liferay bundle tomcat with the default database hsql. Now i want to migrate the stuffs to oracle, i tried to provide the database configuration in portal-ext by writing the following
driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:orcl"
username="lportal"
password="lportal"

schema.run.enabled=true
schema.run.minimal=true

after i started the server the tables are created in oracle but are not populated with previous data present in hsql.
also the server doesn't starts giving a null pointer exception. please help

Yes, just changing the jdbc setting will not migrate the data. You'll have to migrate them yourself either using some hsql to mysql migration tool or exporting and importing data.

You can find a Data Migration tool in ControlPanel, in the "Server Administration" section. Run this while you are running from hsql, provide the Oracle credentials and it will migrate your current data to Oracle. Then restart with the Oracle configuration.

For backups, keep in mind that - by default - document and media library store in the local "data" folder unless you configure otherwise

Before running Data Migration tool, be sure to create the "lportal" schema in Oracle database.

Also, Data Migration tool may not work properly on Liferay 6.1.0 GA1. There were also several thread concerning error when using Oracle database.
