Hi,

I have some problems with a fresh install of Liferay 6.1. CE : the dockbar at the top does not load, it stays with the loading gif. The rest of the pages works fine, I can navigate .
I use a Tomcat 7 but not a bundle. I just a context to point the Liferay webapp. I have in front of that, an apache with the mod_proxy_ajp. Everything seems to be correctly configured.

The Javascript console gives some errors like "AUI is not defined" so it seems that some JS do not reach the client.

Any ideas

Thanks

You have probably disabled the minifier. Re-enable it and try again.

Hi,

I tried disabling the minifier, does not work
I tried enabling it, does not work.

Nevertheless, I got this warning in the CHrome console :
Resource interpreted as Script but transferred with MIME type text/html: "http://mydomain/html/js/everything.jsp?browserId=other&themeId=classic&colorSchemeId=01&minifierType=js&minifierBundleId=javascript.everything.files&languageId=fr_FR&b=6100&t=1335969608000".

Moreover this url returns nothing ...

And in Firefox console, I got
Liferay.Portlet is undefined
AUI is not defined

Maybe Liferay is trying to tell me something ? Some JS are clearly not loaded

It seems like the minifier does not found any js files (defnied by the javascript.everything.files variables)
I checked, all the js files are there. There's no rights problem.

If I try this URL
http://mydomain/html/js/everything.jsp?browserId=firefox&themeId=classic&colorSchemeId=01&minifierType=js&minifierBundleId=javascript.everything.files&languageId=fr_FR&b=6100&t=1335969608000

I got a 200, but the response is empty. I really don't understand.
For instance if I go to the URL http://mydomain/html/js/liferay/liferay.js
I can the javascript file so it is not an access problem.

I try disabling the minifier but doesn't work as well.

Moreover, the minifier seems to work for CSS ...

I'm doing remote debugging on my Liferay server. I put some breakpoints on the filters which manage the everything.jsp page. But nothing happens
http://mydomain/html/js/everything.jsp?browserId=other&themeId=classic&colorSchemeId=01&minifierType=js&minifierBundleId=javascript.everything.files&languageId=fr_FR&b=6100&t=1336572951000

this url that is present in the source code of my page is treated by no filters. Hence the empty js script. How is that possible ? I don't understand.
And without that I can do nothing as I don't have the top dockbar !!!!

Hi Julien!

Have you solved the problem yet?
I've got totally the same situation (AUI is not defined etc), only I'm able to use dockbar when I start Liferay from Eclipse.
But I'd prefer to start it from console, 'cause it makes it possible to run tomcat with debugging enabled and connect to debug server only when it's necessary.

Oups I forgot t opost my solution. In fact, it was a configuration error that I have made in the file server.xml in tomcat. I had specified the same path to the docbase of the context and the appBase of the Host (whereas it should be webapps by default).

I changed it and it works nicely

Hope it helps you

And in Firefox console, I got
Liferay.Portlet is undefined
AUI is not defined

Sometimes these errors will be caused by the asynchronous loading of scripts, css or images. try with keeping the following properties in portal-ext.properties file

javascript.fast.load=false
theme.css.fast.load=false
theme.images.fast.load=false

To resolve this we can set the property in portal-ext.properties.
com.liferay.portal.servlet.filters.minifier.MinifierFilter=false

In the browser you can check by setting the &js_fast_load=0&css_fast_load=0&strip=0 in the URL parameter
