Hi

I'm evaluating liferay 5.1.1, I have to create two class of user, the first write the articles and the latter publish it.

I've created two roles Writer and Publisher, then in the configuration of Journal Portlet I had set up the permission for the new regular roles (Writer and Publisher) as follows:

Writer:
Add Article
Add Structure
Add Template
View

Publisher:
Approve Article
View

Now the writer can write and save his article, but once the article is saved the writer can't update it.
The only operation allowed on the new article is approve the article by the Publisher, but again, once the article is approved not the writer nor the Publisher can update/modify the article.
How can I add permission to modify the article, the only option for regular roles are

Add Article
Add Feed
Add Structure
Add Template
Approve Article
Configuration
View

Is this a bug or I miss somenthing?

Thanks in avdance for your reply
Gioni

Hi,

Have you solved the problem?
I implemented the same scenario... and encountered the same annoying behaviour !

Many thanks
Hervé

Hello,

Actually, I found a workaround to this problem, but it is not 100% perfect.

1. Create a community role X
2. Set the Journal portlet "Add article" and "Update article" permission (at least)
3. Assign this role to your community
4. Add users

If you configured community members to "View" permission only, then only members of the community role X can add and update articles.
Unfortunately, they can also update articles they do not own.

Regards
Hervé
