Hi,

Should'nt users be able to decide if the deletions must be transmitted or not, by a field in the settings ?

We are going to be making changes to how Sync deletes files in our next RC. We don't want users to delete files and then the files disapear on other's computers. Also we don't have a trash system in the document library so once your file is gone...it's gone which is risky for accidental data loss. Therefore with the next RC you will notice some changes.

**Sync will no longer delete files on the server. So if you delete a file locally it will be deleted locally only. The file will still be available on the server. If you really want to delete the file you must do that from the server.

**You can restore files that you deleted locally. There will be a hidden file in each folder. That file will contain the names of all the files from that folder that you have locally deleted. If you remove a file name from that file, the file will be restored. The restoration will download the current version of the file from the server.

Once we have a trash system on the Document Library sync will evolve to allow for more permanent server side deletions from Sync.

Hi,

Sounds a good way to go.
When do you expect these first modifications on L. Sync to occur ?

About tray in Document library, I'm interrested also. What's the best way to develop it if I need it before it's included upstream ?
Who knows, maybe our devs could foster the roadmap..
